So, yesterday was a little bit of a downer. We spent the afternoon slaving away in the yard. We filled the back of our great big 1977 Ford, the one I call The Beast, with all sorts of broken toys and other yard junk. I actually got rid of our porch swing and our fire pit. Yucky. I tried to mow the lawn, but a whole tank of gas and an hour later I had only made 3 swipes around the yard. It is a big yard, but that was ridiculous.
At 6:30 we went to the gym to go swimming. I don't know what I was thinking. I should have gotten there at 5:45! Our pool has a capacity of 15 people. My girlfriend had just showed up with her kids and some friends- which meant that 14 people would have to get out of the pool before we could get in. I didn't really see that happening.
Oh, poor broken hearts!
What we ended up doing was staying up all night watching Alvin and The Chipmunks and The Waterhorse. I guess it was all in the name of family time. Still, it wasn't swimming....

Got a coupla questions.
Did you use a riding mower?
Did you go swimming at 6:30 am or pm because if that was a.m. I am going to bow down to you.
A pool that only accommodates 15 is called a hot tub isn't it? ;)
Glad you could make up for it with some movie time.
It is 80 degrees here, and I have had a house full of kids playing soccer, baseball, breaking lightbulbs, asking for water, running from bees...good times.
PM! I am not sadistic. Actually, I could probably count on one hand the number of times I have seen 6:30 am. 2 am, now that's another story!
No riding mower:( I called my girlfriend who lives about 45 minutes away and has a riding mower and said, "I'll pay you to mow my lawn." SHE LAUGHED AT ME!
Thanks for the movie suggestions...
We watched Alvin and the Chipmunks on our snow day (thursday) and we watched Nancy Drew last night. Ummm, I much preferred Nancy Drew to the squeaking chipmunks!
