Earth Day, And Other Stupid Stuff That Should Be Common Sense

I heard a radio commercial last night.  I'm sure the phrase they used is going to be, or already was, some kind of buzz word.
Trip Chaining.
You know, when you combine all your errands into a single trip.
Right.  Because in this economy, none of us can figure out that doing all your stuff in one trip saves you gas, which saves you money.

Here's my beef with the "green" movement (which is heavily populated by lefties who think they invented it {Insert big shout-out to my favorite lefty here}):
It's common sense to conserve.
It isn't new.
We, as a collective, consume far too much.  We are fat, we are in debt, and we are drowning in possessions.  If we learned to live without much of the superfluous fluff, we'd be doing a whole lot better on the green front.

So, I really don't need a radio ad to tell me how to "Trip Chain."  Conserve your breath.

Amen! I'm so sick of all of these "new" ideas. If more had used common sense years ago we would not be in the situation we are in now!

I'm so tired of the "GO GREEN" movement! Your right it's just common sense. Some people don't have any and other people think it's thier job to decide what everyone needs to do. Get a brain and mind your own business!.... ARGGG!

Great post. I like your words. Will you define "Superfulous" to me? Superficial Stuff?

Okay, not a huge "go green" lady here. (Although I do believe in taking care of the earth.) But I sure wish my town would get a recycle truck to come through my neighborhood, and give me recycle bins to use. I might just be willing to do my part. :)

Yep, I am willing to recycle. I already line up things to do in one trip. It is common sense. I refuse to carry a green bag that says I am saving the earth. Refuse, refuse, refuse!!!
I do not throw my garbage out the window of my car as I am driving down the road. I pick up garbage from my sidewalk when I see it, I do my part!!
By the way, I am fat. Apparently now I am adding to the carbon footprint by overeating and not getting enough exercise. Where will it all end?

Mom, Did you hear that on Dory Munson today? Brandyn and I thought it was hysterical!

or just move to the arctic where you are so out of touch with the rest of the world that you have no idea that it's Earth Day and the ice is so thick that the term "Global Warming" just isn't even on the radar.

Oh, and all the garbage that people just throw around here? Pretty sure "Carbon footprint" has never been uttered her...........
