What She Said... What I Heard

What she said: "Mom, can we have a dog?"

What I heard: "Mom, how do you feel about having to scrape poop out of our yard for the next 18 years? Don't you just love getting into the car and then having every one do a 'shoe check' due to the peculiar smell? Are you overly anxious to spend gross amounts of money on food for such an animal? Do you think a German Shepard is a good choice for our corner lot right next to the school? How do you feel about fleas? Worms? Puppies?"

I shudder.

But should I, by chance, say yes to any of the above questions, what kind would I say yes to?

NOT a beagle!
Yes from experience

Medium size.
Not yappy.
And don't let it bark all night when you're not home.

And that's all I've got to say about that :)

A yellow lab. Great family dog! And so cute!

Some type of terrier, they don't shed. But then again, they usually have to be indoor dogs and maybe you're not ready for that. :)

Get a rescue dog from the kennel. They know they've been saved and are usually the best dogs. Remember this comes from a woman with an American Eskimo, Yorkshire Terrier and Chow. They are full bread dogs but the Chow is the rescued one and she's the sweetest best dog in the world. The Yorky thinks she's in charge of everyone and everything and the American Eskimo is just insane!
