Lula has these gorgeous girls. And apparently, they are famous for their hair bows. Because they are good southern girls and are not considered dressed until their mama has put a ginormous bow somewhere on their heads.
Well, as many times as I have asked her where we good non-southern girls can get our hands on some ginormous bows, SHE HAS NEVER ANSWERED ME! Is there some sort of secret bow society? Must you or one of your offspring be BORN south of the Mason-Dixon Line? Is that why you're not telling, Lula?
Good thing I know how to google. I found all sorts of hair bow sites selling VERY EXPENSIVE, albeit beautiful, hair bows. But I also found this little treasure: Girly Things.
So I took matters into my (ever-so-talented) own hands and I made this bow.
And this bow, which is made from corker ribbon. That I corked (It's a real word! I think...) myself. And this one, too.
And a close cousin of the one above.
And this sweet little number.
Today. These are the ones I made today.
And here they are with some of the others I have made.
I may have a problem.
But, I fully maintain that it is all Lula's fault!
**ETA**So, If I were to open my own Etsy shop or something? Sorry Lula, they'd still be $4-$7 apeice. Now if I could open a sweat shop in China....

To cute!! Wish I had known how to do that. Maybe I would have been able to keep your stringy hair out of your eyes:)
Wow, those are cute!
Now show pictures on your sweet little tree hugggers (isn't that what we are here in the PNW?) with those things in their hair.
those are adorable and good for you making them!
Are you taking orders? 'Cause I'm placing one. Seriously.
Gina, these are FABULOUS...and way more gorgeouser than the plain ones we have.
I told you a loooooooong time ago that I get the bows at one of those frou-frou stores for kids. You know, where the bows cost $4-7 apiece. Yeah. Sigh...
I moved south of the Mason Dixon... but there are 2 things i refuse to do:
Call Pop "soda" or anything else other than pop.
Put huge bows on my kids heads...
HAVING said that.
Those are REALLY cute!!!! And if I DID put bows in my girls hair, I'd be sending you a BIG check right now. You have GOT to sell those buggers.
Olivia thinks the Orange, pink and Lime green one is more cuter.
SO cute! I'm from the South and my girls ALWAYS had a matching hair bow when we left the house. My Colorado friends thought I was over-the-top with the bows, but they're just so stinkin' cute. I was so sad when both my girls outgrew them. I mailed them to a blog friend who has southern roots too. Gotta keep the bow tradition alive!
You did a GREAT job.
Those are awesome!
Being an Illinois/Iowa girl, the only time I wore a hugungus bow was in the early 90's .. it was my mom's .. she had two of them. One was teal and the other was purple.
And they were made of crushed velvet.
I just got a shiver.
I want one! Or 6.....but maybe I'll just have to give it a whirl myself!
Okay, WAY cute. Have you ever looked at allthingsribbon.com or theribbonretreat.com? Ribbon retreat sells the CUTEST ribbon ever and for great prices. All things Ribbon sells the actual premade bows. Don't know if you'd need that though. Looks like you're doing fine by yourself.
Soooo...I'm 100% all TEXAN and wouldn't leave the house without a big bow of some sort on my daughter's head either!! It's just the way it is. You can't make big Texas hair when they have none so you have to make up for it some how!! Your bows are adorable! As the previous person has mentioned allthingsribbon.com do have some extremely cute bows...more ideas are always nice. However she just blogged a tutorial on the big flower bows. http://allthingsribbon.blogspot.com/2009/02/flower-clips-tutorial.html
Can't wait to meet you at our up and coming luncheon! :)
You've got some really great talent there, lady!
Your bows are adorable! Great job. :)
It's like Bow Madness! I can just see your working away, unable to stop:) My daughter will not wear boughs. I have tried, and tried, and tried. She has let me curl her hair like twice, and will use scrunchies but that's it. I'm so bummed!
