Words start coming out of his mouth.
Words like idiot.
Loser.
Jerk.
I turn around and laugh so he can't see me- because we have talked about how those words are not appropriate.
But tonight, tonight was my favorite:
"You scrandrall!"

It's not so funny when they are over 13. Nothing quite like being belittled by a brat!
You are right Kris. But as my mother said to me when I thought I could not last another day as the mother of an over 13 son, "You will wake up one morinig and he will be human again." I can testify, it did happen, just not as soon as I would have liked.
I dread this day but know with Yaya starting school two weeks ago it's not far away. So far the only insults I get from her are hissing or humpfs to show her dissatisfaction with my rules. Ugh!
Was he human again before or after he moved out?
After, actually when he became a parent himself. It was a very difficult few years with him. VERY
said by someone who is parent to a 16 year old..."wake me up when its over"
wow, I am not looking forward to days like this!
The book of proverbs is my go to guide for raising sons. It is written to show wisdom vs. folly.
Wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom and with all your getting, get understanding...
Oh, how I love four-year-olds! :)
